The Lunuganga Estate was the country home of the famous Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. Encompassing approximately 15 acres of land, the property is set on the banks of Dedduwa Lake, which eventually inspired its name “Lunuganga”, translating to “salty river”.  Geoffrey Bawa experimented with light, space and natural surroundings as he built his summer house and landscaped the gardens accordingly.
